Nutrison Multi Fibre is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Nutrison Multi Fibre, is a 1kcal/ml tube feed enriched with 1.5g/100ml of Multi Fibre. Nutrison Multi Fibre is designed for the dietary management of patients with disease related malnutrition. Nutrison Multi Fibre is nutritionally complete in 1500kcal. Suitable as a sole source of nutrition for adults and children over 6 years of age.
Indications
For enteral use only. ACBS approved, prescribable on form FP10 (GP10 in Scotland) for the following indications: short bowel syndrome; intractable malabsorption; preoperative preparation of undernourished patients; inflammatory bowel disease; total gastrectomy; dysphagia; disease related malnutrition.
Contraindications
Not for intravenous use. Not suitable for infants under 1 year of age. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia or patients requiring a fibre free diet.
Precautions
Use with caution in children aged 1-6 years. Coagulation in the digestive tract, e.g. due to drug interaction, may occur. Careful monitoring is required.
Directions for use
Shake well before opening immediately prior to use at room temperature. Maximum hanging time 24 hours.
Glass bottles can be attached directly to a Flocare Universal Giving Set. Clean bottle top and bottle opener with an alcohol swab before opening. Alternatively, feed can be decanted into a sterile reservoir, taking care to handle aseptically at all times.
Flexible Packs can be attached directly to a Flocare Pack giving set.
Ingredients
Water, maltodextrin, milk proteins, vegetable oils, dietary fibres (soy polysaccharides, resistant starch, inulin, arabic gum, cellulose, oligofructose), tri potassium citrate, emulsifier (soy lecithin), acidity regulator (citric acid), sodium chloride, di potassium hydrogen phosphate, calcium hydroxide, tri calcium phosphate, carotenoids (contains soy) (b-carotene, lutein, lycopene), magnesium hydrogen phosphate, choline chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium hydroxide, sodium L-ascorbate, potassium hydroxide, ferrous lactate, zinc sulphate, nicotinamide, retinyl acetate, DL-a-tocopheryl acetate, copper gluconate, sodium selenite, manganese sulphate, calcium D-pantothenate, chromium chloride, D-biotin, cholecalciferol, pteroylmonoglutamic acid, thiamin hydrochloride, pyridoxine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin, sodium molybdate, riboflavin, sodium fluoride, potassium iodide, phytomenadione.
